Safe The Face
With falling temperatures outside, we are not only changing our clothing wardrobe but also skincare wardrobe. What was working for your skin during hot spring-summer days will cause problems in the cold months of the fall and winter.
Lightweight creams and lotions that make our completions stay moisturized and protected from the sun, we can put away and switch to heavier textures which are suitable for mines temperatures. To avoid skin problems that are common in a winter-time, such as dryness, itching, redness, crackles, flakiness and dry patches, you have to choose the right skin care. Knowing you skin type and paying attention to a list of ingredients in the jar of cream, it will be easy to keep that lovely face of yours in a perfect condition through deep-freeze days.
Below is a list of ingredients that are very important to have in your winter-time skin regiment:
Ceramides – moisture-magnet lipids that skin makes in abundance during our youth. Purpose: Deep hydration and strengthening of skin’s natural moisture barrier.
Panthenol – also known as pantothenic acid, a natural ingredient that is a form of Vitamin B5 and can be found in plants. Purpose: Ultra-rich hydration and softness. It restores suppleness and vitality to overstressed skin.
Shear Butter – extracted fat from the nut of the African shear tree and has been used for centuries for its moisturizing and healing properties. Purpose: Deep nourishment and hydration, and repair of damaged areas of the skin (including such skin conditions as roughness, dermatitis, eczema, blemishes, frostbites, sunburns, skin allergies). Shear Butter also soothes sensitivity and helps to regenerate the skin.
Vitamin E – antioxidant that is essential for the maintenance of healthy skin. Purpose: Skin’s softness and smoothness, and protection from free radicals.
Vitamin K – redness eraser and circulation booster. Purpose: Strength of the skin, reduction of the dark circles and puffiness. It diminishes the appearance of broken capillaries and also improves elasticity to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
You might not have all the above ingredients in one face cream, but having at least one of them it’s a major plus to protect your skin in winter-time. Stay warm and beautiful!
