Destination – Paradise
Have you ever been in a place that is magnificent and breathtaking, that gives you a feeling that it’s not real or that it’s a beautiful dream, a place you want to call Paradise? Earth is full of such places; just keep looking and prepare to feel like an Alice-in-Wonderland!
Several years ago, I discovered my own personal Paradise: it’s the island of Kauai. As the oldest of the Hawaiian isles, it’s volcanic, it’s dormant, and it’s most westerly location means its volcanic mountain attracts the first rain from the ocean storms, making it the wettest place on earth, with some rainfall every day of the year. Of all the Hawaiian isles, Kauai is the lushest, wildest and most scenic, which kept its unique nature with lots of jungles and hidden spots. Kauai is so beautiful, colorful and bright, that makes me feel I am inside some artist’s painting. In a world: Unreal! My big love for this place is bringing me here for the fourth time.
At Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa, guests feel very welcomed from the second they arrive. Smiling hostesses greeting you with flower leis around your neck, and right in that moment your Hawaiian adventure is just beginning. This particular resort is not only luxurious, but has a unique open space structure inside a hall, from where you can see an amazing ocean view through the inside-garden which is layout in a middle of the hall, giving you an outdoor feeling.
The resort has nice rooms decorated in Hawaiian style, so even if you are inside, you still get this tropical feeling. But try not to watch TV-news or your favorite shows — leave it for home. Instead, keep playing their Hawaiian Music. I did just that, and I was completely in Hawaiian mood.
Even though the inside is pretty, there are many things to do outdoors. There are activities or res-tivities for every taste. To name just few of them: Helicopters to fly you over the jungles, volcanos and waterfalls; Kayak boats to take you into the rivers or the ocean with amazing views all around; Scuba Diving to mesmerize you with an undersea kingdom; Hiking around the mountains and tropical gardens to inspire you; SPA treatments (my own favorite) to make you forget of the rest of the world…. Whichever you choose, it will be unforgettable!
Tropical places are perfect for my food preferences, such as fruits, vegetables and seafood. It’s not only tasty but very colorful and well-decorated. There are few casual restaurants on the property. Stevenson’s Library is famous for its fresh sushi and live piano music. But most of the time, my husband and I spent in “Tidepools” – a cozy place with very good meals and service. This restaurant has an open space from where you can enjoy an ocean view and sunset; and it is surrounded by a lagoon with a white swan and lots of coy-fish, which are perfect entertainment while you dining. I want to say “Hello!” to the service team we have met there over the years (including Lee, Paul and Les), and a big Thanks to you for taking care about us!
For entertainment, I got a big impression from the Luau, a traditional Hawaiian show. It’s so unique and festive! Figural speaking, no cameras needed, because your mind will never forget what you saw!
Kauai is such a relaxing place for me that the only one thought comes to mind: DON’T LEAVE!
Until next time, Kauai! My Paradise!
